It’s probably safe to say that no one in high school every uttered the following:
I want to go to college for 4-5 (or more) years and go on to graduate school for a couple more, so I can work my ass off in a 6 by 8 foot, 3.5 walled equivalent of the corporate jail cell for the next 40+ years.
And, I’m no exception. I had goals and dreams of climbing the ladder fighting my way to the top. Getting an office and a cute assistant.
One thing I learned along the way…dreams die young.
So who am I? I’m a middle-aged, married guy with kids who’s been in the show (that’s what us pros call the work world) for about half my life. I’ve gone from junior positions to director positions and back to manager positions. From a cube, to an office, back to a cube, back to an office and back to the cube where I dwell today. I’m what they call a “Repeat Offender” <cue Raising Arizona music>.
After all… I’m just a guy, sitting in front multiple monitors, hoping to get through the day.

Haha, oh man… this is pretty on the money. I guess at least my cubicle walls are only a few feet high, so I can still see the rest of the inmates.
Hi Bryan, so you WANT to see them?
Hey,
Thanks for liking my post. What would be even cooler is if you followed me. I followed you.
Done! And, thanks.
Hey CV,
Just wanted to personally let you know that I mentioned you in my most recent post at healthdemystified.com, because I just wanted to thank you for what you’ve done to both support my blog and inspire the world.
I’ve also included a backlink over here to your blog, so that hopefully more people will be able to be inspired by your posts.

I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your work and, because of that, I’m shining a little recognition on you by nominating your for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. My post regarding the award is at http://nedhickson.wordpress.com/2013/02/11/grammy-shmammy-ll-cool-js-got-nothing-on-this-cracker , and the rules are simple:
1) Display the Award on your blog
2) Announce your win with a post
3) Present the award to at least seven (but no more than 15) other deserving bloggers and include their links
4) Inform those bloggers of their award.
5) post seven interesting things about yourself.
Thanks so much for your posts — I’m extremely glad to be able to pass this along to you. And don’t worry: I’ve had my flu shot…
Wow Ned. This is great and coming from you, writer of one of my favorite blogs…too cool. I very much appreciate it and will not let you down. I’ll follow through on this one shortly!
My extreme pleasure to pass it along to you, CV. You’re also on my short list of favorites.
Again honored especially since the only lists I’m usually involved with typically also come with some form of surveillance by authorities.
Hahaha! Never fear; I’m not an authority on anything.
Hey CV I usually read 4 or five articles before i decide to follow some one. You are the exception. Excellent post “on the road again Part 1” Glad I found you.
Awesome! I hope you find the other posts good reads as well.
You will be the first to know
19 and currently sitting in a cubicle planning how I can kill myself with a highlighter and some paperclips. You’re hilarious.
Please don’t kill yourself…I like my readers and there really aren’t many to spare.
I survived by reading your blog, thank you haha.
